Wavelength

Child safety standards

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Wavelength has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any attempt to connect an adult with a minor for sexual purposes.

1. An adults-only app

  • Wavelength is strictly for people aged 18 and over.
  • Date of birth is required at sign-up; sign-up is refused under 18.
  • Any account we have reason to believe belongs to a minor is suspended, then deleted.

2. Prohibited content and behaviour

The following are prohibited and lead to immediate and permanent account deletion:

  • any content sexualising a minor, whether real, drawn or generated;
  • any attempt to contact, solicit or manipulate a minor;
  • any request for, exchange or distribution of child sexual abuse material;
  • any threat or blackmail aimed at obtaining intimate images (sextortion).

3. Reporting in the app

Every profile and every conversation has a Report button, with a dedicated “Underage person” reason. Reports are confidential: the reported person does not know who reported them, and can also be blocked immediately. Every report is forwarded without delay to the moderation team.

4. What we do

  • Reports involving minors are handled as a priority.
  • The account concerned is suspended during review, then deleted if the facts are confirmed; it can no longer appear in selections.
  • Information needed for an investigation is preserved for the authorities, in accordance with the law.
  • Any child sexual abuse material or situation putting a child at risk is reported to the relevant authorities: in France, the Ministry of the Interior's PHAROS platform, and where applicable the NCMEC CyberTipline or the authority of the country concerned.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement upon lawful request.

5. Compliance with the law

We comply with applicable child protection laws, including French and European law (including the Digital Services Act), as well as Google Play policies.
